An audio slide show about the now-closed Eagle Tavern. The Eagle Tavern was a gay/leather/motorcycle bar in the South of Market district in San Francisco. After 30 years of acting as a community center for the queer community, the Eagle closed on May 1, 2011.
A Feyboy’s Life
A multimedia journalism piece on the Feyboys–a group of young, queer men who created an artist co-op in SoMa. This video was done for San Francisco State’s Photojournalism III class.
Cuddle Therapy
A photo story about a young man who, after working as a stripper in San Francisco, found that many of his clients just wanted to cuddle–so many, in fact, that he decided to start a business around the power of non-sexual touch.
Lauren Crabbe is a photojournalist, writer, and barista in San Francisco, California. She has traveled throughout Europe for her photography and uses journalism as an outlet for her passion for storytelling. Lauren currently lives in the sleepy Sunset District of San Francisco with her husband and works freelance for technology magazines. She is available for freelance work.
